Peter Seeger y Joe Hickerson

Pete Seeger nació en Nueva York, el 3 de mayo de 1919.
En 1943, grabó un álbum junto con su grupo The Almanacs llamado «Historias del Batallón Lincoln», en el que se incluían diez canciones, algunas compuestas por los propios milicianos estadounidenses del batallón, como «There is a valley in Spain called Jarama» (Hay un valle en España llamado Jarama) o «Young man from Alcalá» (El joven de Alcalá) recogidas de los brigadistas pertenecientes al Batallón Lincoln a su regreso de la Guerra Civil española a Estados Unidos.
Ha muerto con 94 años de edad, en Beacon, Nueva York, el 27 de enero de 2014.

*Where have all the flowers gone» es una popular canción. Los tres primeros versos fueron escritos por Pete Seeger en 1955, y publicados en la revista Sing Out, los versos adicionales fueron añadidas por Joe Hickerson en mayo de 1960.
La versión 1964 de la canción grabada con Columbia Records por Pete Seeger fue incluida en el Salón de la Fama de los Grammy en 2002 en la categoría Folk.
