Charles Bukowski
Charles Bukowski nació en Andernach, Alemania, el 16 de agosto de 1920.
Se le suele asociar de forma equivocada con la Generación Beat, debido a cierta semejanza en su estilo y forma de vida.
Su obra está en gran manera influenciada con la atmósfera de Los Ángeles, ciudad en la que vivió la mayor parte de su existencia.
Autor prolífico, escribió más de cincuenta libros, numeroso relatos cortos e incontables poemas.
Ejerció una importante influencia sobre escritores contemporáneos siendo frecuentemente imitado su estilo.
A de día de hoy, está considerado uno de los escritores norteamericanos más influyentes y símbolo del realismo sucio y la literatura independiente.
Murió en Los Ángeles, el 9 de marzo de 1994, a causa de una leucemia, a la edad de 73 años.
